An overview of Morn

Morn is a planet located approximately four hundred light years from Earth.  With a diameter of approximately 9,845 kilometers, it is somewhat smaller than Earth and somewhat larger than Mars. Although now primarily desert, Morn does sustain several seas and pockets of forest. There is evidence that once Morn was a very fertile planet. While Morn is capable of supporting human life, it is severely affected by radiation from what is referred to as the “Sister Planet”. This radiation affects all life on Morn in that interbreeding between species is entirely possible. Before its colonization by the Earth starship Aurora, no warm blooded life forms had evolved.  One of the most highly developed life-forms in terms of sentiency was the gorbul.

Morn was colonized by settlers fleeing from Earth who were led by Captain John Forrester. Due to extremely challenging survival conditions combined with human/clone politics and cultures, the humanoid society that ultimately developed was a far cry from the original idealism of Captain Forrester.
